rating Liverpool players in Hertha loss

Mo Salah: 9. Was arguably the most dangerous player for Liverpool today, wreaking: havoc on Hertha’s defence. Was constantly in motion, linking up well with Trent on the right-hand side. And that backheel assist belongs in a museum.

Sadio Mane: 8.5. Looked very sharp tonight. Netted the Reds’ first goal. Was a constant threat in the final third as he got into right positions and ran into spaces.

Ibrahima Konate: 8. Solid at the back. Often pushed forward, becoming an extra man in Liverpool’s midfield.

Harvey Elliott: 8. Pulled the creativity strings in the first half as he was used in a central midfield role today. Very promising display from the youngster.

Naby Keita: 8. Looked a bit rusty in the beginning, making a few miscued passes and allowing Suat Serdar too much time on the ball in the penalty box when he scored Hertha’s second goal.

But Naby grew into the game as his interception started the Reds’ move that led to the second goal. Made a lot of ball recoveries, progressed the ball fell, showing he’s a world-class player when fit.

Trent Alexander-Arnold: 7.5. His crosses and overlapping runs were a big nuisance to Hertha defenders today.

Kaide Gordon: 7. Looks like a massive talent coming through. He wasted two good chances to score but the most important thing is that he got into these positions. He’s only 16, his finishing will get better.

Kostas Tsimikas: 5.5. Conceded a foul that resulted in Hertha’s opener; his defensice positioning in the second was awful. Provided an assist to Mane after making a good interception in the opposition’s half.
